Conjunctivitis occurs when there is inflammation of the conjunctiva, the membrane that lines the eye and eyelid.

• Itching

• Mucus

• Crusting

• Swelling

Treatments include:

• Antibiotic drops

• Anti-Inflammatory/Steroid drops

• Antihistamine drops

• Cold compresses

Bacterial & viral Conjunctivitis are very contagious so health hygiene is incredibly important. These recommendations include frequent handwashing, changing pillowcases and sheets, wiping down surfaces and doorknobs, and avoiding contact with other folks.
