DOs
-Always wash AND dry hands before inserting or removing lenses
-Replace lenses as directed by your optometrist (daily, every 2 weeks, monthly)
-Change the contact lens case regularly (~every 3 months)
-Use the recommended contact lens solution
-Clean lenses before storing them in the case AND store fresh solution every night
-Clean lenses if they are dropped on any non-sterile surface
-Rinse out the contact lens case with saline solution after each use & let it dry face down on a paper towel
-Carry solution & a case with you whenever possible
-Use protective eyewear over contact lenses when indicated
-Take care while applying makeup/cosmetics, hair products, and skin products
***DISCONTINUE LENS WEAR AND SEE YOUR OPTOMETRIST RIGHT AWAY IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS OCCUR: persistent pain, redness, light sensitivity, discharge, changes in vision
***HAVE A RECENT BACKUP PAIR OF GLASSES
***Understand that being a contact lens wearer puts you at a higher risk of bacterial, viral, or fungal infections
***Understand contact lens wear is a privilege and not a right
-See your optometrist regularly (yearly) for your routine eye examination

-Swim with lenses
